Hmm not sure yet, Daniel Day-Lewis is not just the centre of the film but basically everything except him is a subplot. I can understand but don’t necessarily buy into the Citizen Kane comparisons, I don’t see him calling out for a sled on his deathbed.
I thought for a while we were going to get a topical science vs. religion story but all that proved was that the extremes on both sides are more like eachother than any of us in the middle.
Nope this is a film about Daniel the oil man and nothing else. I’m not prepared to attach a score to it yet until I digest it a bit more.
