Another one of those Thai films I regularly snag out of Singapore, “Body #19″, looks to be the latest in the medical themed ghost stories to come out of Asia this year, following on the trail of “Cadaver” and “Sick Nurses” from Thailand and “Autopsy Room” aka “Cadaver” out of Korea.
We all know how asian audiences fear the dead…. especially the squeamish nature of handling the dead and the spiritual dangers inherent in such activities. All these films exploit that cultural fear and play upon such beliefs to create suspense.
So how does this one stack up? Let’s find out shall we?

Hmmmmm? I’m a girl who always likes some nifty snacks to go with a night of movies but some of the stuff one finds on the internet makes you wonder…..
The “engrish” translations for this one leaves some doubt as to exactly what the heck you might be getting.
Almost makes Neko want to know just what sort of “chunks” are involved here……

Well, my shower last Sunday evening helped immensely, and as a result I was able to keep my self awake long enough to watch a couple of movies. First up for review is another of the Indonesian horror movies I got in from Malaysia last week…. “Lewat Tengah Malam” aka “After Midnight”.
The synopsis for it reads: “A widower named Tara lives with her only teenage daughter, Alice. Tara’s ex-husband, Yuga is in the mental hospital. Strange things happen when Alice sees a spirit haunted her in the apartment. The same spirit also terrorizes Yuga at the mental hospital. The spirit is appeared to be Yuga’s long time mistress who supposedly died in a horrible accident. Relations between mother and daughter become strained over the weird supernatural events that seem to be focused upon Alice. Will Alice’s best friend Ramon help her unravel the mystery before it is too late?”
Is it a good scary film like Mistress Neko likes? Or does it fail miserably? Guess you’ll just have to read some more to find out! Hehehehe!!
