Nekoneko’s Movie Litterbox!!

Well…. it’s Sunday, and your Favorite Catgirl Princess has finally gotten herself set up with a brand spankin’ new system, all ready to go, full o’ RAM and delightfully zippy and best yet…… virus free!

This should finally end the drought of new material that has gripped the “Litterbox” throughout all of October and let me start posting again without wrestling with the java interface WordPress uses for management.

First up, the long awaited review of “Monarch of the Moon/ Destination: Mars!” that I had promised before my terrible virus attack/ computer crash….. Hopefully there are still some of you out there waiting for this…… I’m done work this afternoon, so let’s get to it….

Well gentle visitors, seems as though I haven’t been able to post in ages….. (And thanks to multiple computer issues I really… really…. haven’t been able to….. so sad, I’ve missed Halloween this year at DV and the Litterbox….. can you ever forgive this lil’ Catgirl?)

Like as not, until I decide to go on that diet of Ramen noodles and Dr Pepper for about a month, I wont be buying a new computer, so I’ll have to struggle along with the prehistoric “loaner” that a friend lent me to keep Internet access.

In the meantime, it seems that my Imagehost for all my old reviews has lurched back into existence after a 2 month absence and with it all the posters and pics for my old reviews….. Now is the time for you all to check them out dear Readers… and I’ll try to make it up to you with at least some new material as it’s possible to do so in the next day or so.

Well…. It’s a Saturday… and the month of October is slowly slipping away from me… and as casual visitors may have noticed, not much is happening here at the ol’ Litterbox. After a good week and a half of work, my operating system went flatline yesterday for what I figure is the last time. It was a shame given the amount of effort I’ve put into getting it back up and running, but sometimes that’s how it goes. I’m currently using my old system…. resurrected from the carton I’d packed it away in, back in service to at least get me back online. It’s old…. clunky and unable to run a lot of the programs I like, but hey… at least it works. ( I knew there was a good reason for saving it…)

I’ve been too busy to go shopping for a new one yet…. but it’s on the top of my priorities list now…. A friend thinks he can wipe the old one’s disc and reformat it with a new OS but it’s a project for in the future. Almost feel like I should burn some incense for it…..

Anyhooo…. I’ve got a review in progress for “Monarch of the Moon”, and I’ve seen a couple of others that I’ll try to get in shape soon, but no firm promises as to when…. I feel I’ve disappointed people far to often to make one of those…..

This is turning out to be the crappiest Halloween month ever for this lil’ catgirl……

I had meant to do some more reviews today and get our “Halloween Review Series” started, but thanks to the “go.google” virus/ trojan thingee, I was off line all day today in a deathmatch wrestling with that particular menace.

It didn’t just redirect me and hijack my homepages…. oh no… nothing THAT simple. It also blocked access to any useful tech sites I might need to find removal info…. as well as blocking Spybot and AVG from updating. It also just about completely destroyed my entire Registry, the Windows Installer, totally unregistered ALL File Types in the system and brought this lil’ Catgirl to tears before I finally managed to stop it’s destructive rampage.

So now I’m sitting in the ruins of my data… with minimal internet access and most programming completely unusable. If I can… I’m going to be spending most of tomorrow repairing the carnage. Then we’ll see if I can finally get back to normal. So if I’m missing for a couple days, at least you few loyal readers will know why……

Why… why… poor lil’ me?

So… it’s Saturday, and I’m finally able to get some maintenance time here at the ol’ Litterbox. What’s the first thing I find? Well, if you’ve noticed, I spent some time moving all of my old reviews over from Delirium Vault to here last week so they’d all be in one place…. but what happens?

My Image host appears to have quietly gone extinct… defunct…. missing in action…. In other words, all my old, classic, nifty reviews are currently without pictures. AAUUUGGGHHH!!

Sigh….. (Must take deep cleansing breaths…. find my “Happy Place”……. return to a balanced Karma….. ) I’ll be fixing these… as I can find both the time, as well as retrieve the Images from my backup data files.

Work is going crazy again. Seems we can’t find a Cook who doesn’t come with a whole boatload of personal baggage they bring along with them…. our latest one “melted down” and left us hanging.

And… if that isn’t enough, after not hearing from him after “Movie Nite”, Samantha tells me that Ben has decided I’m far too “old” for him so although he feels bad about it, he’s not going to be calling me. Yep…. a girl loves hearing THAT one secondhand……

Anyway… just figured I’d write a post to let you all know your favorite Catgirl is still in there making her best efforts to get you a few new reviews…. With luck, by Monday at the latest…. honest. Till then… “Meow, meow for now”!!

Well, it’s Saturday night here, and I’m readying a wonderful selection of yummy snacks for a Movie Night at home. But not just any Movie Night…..

A couple of the other girls from work insisted we had to get together and watch movies again. Given that my tastes in film tend to scare them….. I should have realized something was up. Foolish lil’ me, I just figured they were willing to put up with a couple of my  asian comedies and maybe something they brought along if they weren’t enjoying my picks. Afterall… I do make some tasty Satay and canapes to nibble on when we do this sort of thing. But no…. seems there was a cunning plan afoot.

My best friend at work, Samantha spilled the beans as I was leaving the restaurant this afternoon. Seems the girls are setting me up with a guy they met out at a party last week.

“He’s perfect for you….” (As if I haven’t heard THAT one before….) “No….no, really. He knows all about that “Bride With White Hair” movie you like. He says he’s waaay into Kung Fu movies too. So we told him you have like the biggest pile of those movies and he would really have lots in common with you…..Ooohh! And he likes Cats!!”

Sigh…. Just what I need… a “Blind Date”….. (Am I really such a pathetic homebody?) They sound like my Mom. Except that he’s not asian. So… apparently Samantha’s going to bring her boyfriend and the new guy is coming along and we’re all gonna “hang out” and watch my subbed version of “Chocolate”….since they say he hasn’t seen it yet.

Anyway, I appreciated the warning, last minute though it was. At least I wont be in my PJ’s when they arrive now. Also… I just got some other stuff in the Mail today, so I’ll add “The Deserted Inn” and “Hansel & Gretel” to the pile to watch. That way I’ll at least get a review outta this for you all, hopefully within the next day or so.

Woke up this morning at the crack of dawn freezing my lil’ butt off. Seems that Autumn appears to have arrived, and nobody told this lil’ Catgirl! My apartment is usually overly warm, especially in the summer so I don’t normally feel comfortable sleeping under anything but a single cotton sheet until the winter months. Except for last night.

Last night however… the temperature dipped to the upper 30’s F and I awoke shivering and positively freezing due to the failure of the heating system throughout the building. Goober was nowhere to be found… the lil’ goof snuck out my bedroom window last evening and hadn’t yet returned from his “tomcat’s night out”. So much for his furry bed-warming butt….

Anyway…. it’s hot coffee and my woolly sweater this morning as I yawn and prepare for another day off. We hired another cook at work… and it seems I might just be back on track for my well deserved (and well overdue) vacation soon. Maybe your favorite Catgirl might just catch a break at last.

I’m looking to reorganize and transfer over more of my reviews today from Delirium Vault, maybe some other stuff as well… Hopefully you guys will finally have some new stuff to read.

It’s Sunday afternoon, and I’ve just finished up my shift at the restaurant for today. So here I am, in my smelly kitchen whites, drinking a badly needed wine cooler at the keyboard while I do the whole maintainance thing here at “The Litterbox”….. (Sigh.., If only it was “scoopable”…..)

Anyway…. I noticed how lax and empty things look on the ol’ calendar and suddenly realized it’s been like a week or more since I posted…… anything…. (Bad Kitty…Baaaaad!!!) I didn’t want people to think I fell in a hole or something, so I figured I better post SOMETHING today…..

In my defense… it has been really rough at work lately, but I made a goal a while back of wanting to keep things lively here, so I’m going to try to shake off my doldrums and see if I can’t get back on track starting tomorrow. Honest!! Catgirl’s honor!!

I figure I owe a review of two so we’ll see what happens.

It’s Saturday here at the ol’ Litterbox, and your favorite Catgirl is going through the motions of her normal morning routine. It’s all about puttering about in my PJ’s and fuzzy slippers with coffee mug in hand, fending off Goober’s attempts to rub all his loose fur off on my ankles, while rubbing the sleep from my eyes and trying to come up with a coherent plan for today.

I know I’m falling behind on new posts…. but it seems the drama at work refuses to end. The new cook we hired just plain stopped showing up early this week… I’m assuming that means he’s done working.. (although if I lived a more exciting life, it could mean alien abduction, governmental kidnapping by the “Men in Black”, or possession by the evil thousand year old spirit of an antique Chinese urn…) Naturally they had to give some of his shifts to me….. as if I’m not already tired and cranky enough. Plus we lost a waitress as well… but I’ve flat out told them I’m NOT doing any of those shifts too. Lately my mood has not been good enough for me to put up with the hassles of smiling for customers that I might not even want to deal with otherwise. Apparently that vacation I was planning is on hold…. again. GRRRR!!

Still….. I’m off for the complete weekend, so I’m going to try and do at least one more nice review, as well as work on my “Best of 2008″ posting over at Delirium Vault. That and do some posts over at Snowblood Apple, since I finally decided to get off my lazy butt and register for that forum. I’ve been lurking there for a while, and with everybody at DV saying I ought to get more active socially around the Web it seemed like an idea who’s time had come.

Anyways… that’s what up for me. Here’s hoping the next week holds more promise.

Ooooh! Ooooh! My mailman dropped off my latest big ol’ pile of overseas packages, and within was “Kuntilanak 3″ direct from Indonesia…. Yay!!! After the let down of the last film in the series, I’m hoping they make it up to this girl big time….. I should get the chance to curl up and watch it tonight so expect my review tomorrow!

Also… in from Singapore, the Malaysian/ HK co-production “Possessed”. This is the one directed by Bjarne Wong featuring Malaysian supermodel Amber Chia and that Korean transsexual model Harisu…. I saw the Trailer and it actually doesn’t look too bad. Guess I’ll find out! Till then, “Meow, meow for now!”
