There’s another Trailer out for the “Girls with Guns” exploitation film, “Bitch Slap” due for theatrical release this December…. and if you like your girls all sassy, dangerous, and violent, you’ll probably want to check it out. So here’s Trailer #2, courtesy of the nice and ever so lucky people at Twitchfim.

Ahhhhh…… Tasty!! As you know, Neko likes these “Female Empowerment” films a whole lot, as they really help petite lil’ me channel my inner Tomboy…. (although I’ve probably scared away many a date with my choice of cinema goodness….)

All I really wanna know is where was I when they were casting for the part of Yuki? Another missed opportunity for your Favorite Catgirl Princess….

Sigh…. Oh well.

Anyway…. Neko knows that all you guys like this sort of silly action movie just as much as she does…. so c’mon….. It’s time to get “Bitch Slapped” all over again!!!

One of the great genre film stars of Indonesia passed away this last week, and I only just found out today…. This lil’ Catgirl is sad, as perhaphs her best known film here in the US, “The Queen of Black Magic”, just got a glorious restoration by Mondo Macabro and she herself had begun acting again in films….. such a sad, sad thing to happen……… Here’s the news, direct from Indonesia….

“Legendary and irreplaceable Queen of horror films, actress Suzanna, saddens the nation with her passing.

Suzanna, aka Suzzanna/ Susanna Martha Frederika van Osch (she was of mixed German/ Dutch/ Javanese/ Manado blood), born in Bogor in 1942, known as the Queen of Horror (Ratu Horor) died of diabetes related complications on 16th October 2008 at her home in Magelang.

Suzanna began acting in the 1950’s in straight roles, but is eternally remembered for her horror and mystical films, beginning in the 1970’s, like “Bernapas Dalam Lumpur” (1970), “Beranak Dalam Kubur” (1971), “Pulau Cinta” (1978), “Ratu Buaya Putih” and “Ratu Ilmu Hitam” (1981).

She retired in the early 1990’s but made a couple of comebacks, in 2003 on the television serial “Selma dan Ular Siluman”, and most recently this year in the film “Hantu Ambulance”, in which she was visibly ailing.

At least she left us all a wonderful legacy of horror and fantasy film to enjoy, and if she’s lucky, she’ll live on forever through the magic of those films……

Hehehehe!! Betcha THAT title got your attention!

Every now and then this lil’ Catgirl likes a film that tells the world that we girls can be sexy and, more importantly, still kick your ass if you don’t watch out. This has been a particularly good year for such movies, with the likes of “Chocolate”, “Machine Girl”, “Left For Dead”, “Punch Lady” and “Planet Terror” hitting DVD release. (And joining the pile of discs that teeter precariously next to my TV….)

But it looks like this year just might go out with a bang….a big BLOODY Bang. Coming this December might be the best of them all….“Bitch Slap”. Goodness!! That title alone is soooo “exploitative” that it just absolutely begs for a movie!!

How this one slipped under my radar, I’ll never know. I’m blaming the fact that it isn’t an asian film….. but I’m in the loop now.

The synopsis available reads: “Bitch Slap” follows three bad girls (a down-and-out stripper, a drug-running killer and a corporate powerbroker) as they arrive at a remote desert hideaway to extort massive booty from a ruthless underworld kingpin. Things quickly spin out of control as allegiances change, truths are revealed, other criminals arrive for the score, the fate of the world hangs in the balance and they are forced to confront a villain much worse than they ever expected… themselves. It’s the ultimate morality tale as, one by one, they realize the whole “she-bang” was a set-up and one of the film’s characters may not even be human…- moviesonline.ca

So what is better than one Japanese Exploitation Flick featuring tough chicks, martial arts, gunplay, and aliens? How about TWO Japanese Exploitation Flicks done as a crazy “Grindhouse” style double bill?

Thanks to the people over at 24framespersecond, this one has just snuck into Neko’s sights, and is supposed to open this August in Japan.

Ram Gophal Varna, the producer/ director behind the Hindi horror films “Bhoot”, “Darna Mana Hai” and “Darna Zaroori Hai” has a new horror film ready for release this August called “Phoonk”

The Synopsis is sketchy at this point but what I could find says: “Phoonk is the story of a confirmed atheist whose belief systems are shaken up when his loved ones are subjected to unspeakable horrors by forces whose very existence his rational mind refuses to accept. It is also the story of a fanatical devotee who is forced to turn her back on God in the face of traumatic experiences.”

I’m sitting here at the keyboard bright and early today, a steamy cup of coffee by my side, in my Pj’s and fuzzy slippers with a whole day off from work…..the possibilities are endless.

Since it’s been a while…and I mean quite a while….since I updated people as to exactly what your favorite Catgirl Princess has been up to, I thought I might take a stab at giving you the full details of just what Neko-chan has in the pipeline for her DVD purchase and future review.
